I’m running for School Board because I love our district and want to see it continue to succeed, not just for my own children, but for my neighbors and our entire community. Strong schools benefit everyone, and they require safe, supportive learning environments where students can thrive and educators feel valued.
My involvement began through the Hartland-Lakeside Education Foundation as a way to give back. Through that experience, I saw firsthand both the dedication of our teachers and the challenges they face. Wanting to better understand how decisions are made, I began attending School Board meetings and learning more about district governance.
When I realized there would be no female voice on the Board at that time, I felt a responsibility to step forward. I bring perspective as a full-time working parent, an active school volunteer, and a mom committed to thoughtful, collaborative leadership. I serve because I care deeply about this district and believe keeping students at the center of decisions strengthens our schools and community.
I bring a combination of professional experience and hands-on community involvement. My background in finance and accounting, including nonprofit auditing and financial oversight roles, helps me understand budgets, governance, and responsible stewardship.
In addition, my service as Treasurer of the Hartland-Lakeside Education Foundation and my involvement as a parent and volunteer give me insight into how decisions impact classrooms, families, and educators. I value asking thoughtful questions, listening carefully, and working collaboratively to support strong, sustainable outcomes.
I believe good decision-making starts with listening, to families, educators, administrators, and community members. I approach each issue by asking questions, reviewing data carefully, and considering both short-term impacts and long-term sustainability.
My goal is to support decisions that are transparent, fiscally responsible, and centered on what’s best for students, while respecting the perspectives and expertise of those closest to the work.
I value hearing from families and community members and believe open communication builds stronger schools. You’re always welcome to reach out through this website, attend School Board meetings, or connect with me at community events.
